Team Pictures, New Fins, Upcoming Schedule Notes

Brian Pursley
Hello Hurricanes Families,

I hope everyone is feeling back on track after a week of spring break catch up and recovery!

In the pool, we are easing back into our next challenging training cycle this spring. Right now our practices consist of a little bit of work, a little bit of fun, and a huge emphasis on establishing some new and better habits before we get back to training our hardest.

Spring is a good time for a fresh start, and our temporary reprieve from training intensity is an outstanding opportunity to turn new skills into long term habits. Seize the opportunity while it is here!

Please read on for a few announcements and have a great week!

Go Hurricanes!
Coach Brian

Team Pictures
Our first team pictures as the Evergreen Hurricanes are coming up. Here are the details:
  • All-Team Pictures will be at Wulf on Monday, April 10th from 4:00pm to 5:30pm
  • Please wear your green Hurricanes t-shirt and bring any other Hurricanes gear you may have, including suits, t-shirts, sweatshirts, warmups, and parkas.
  • We will have full team, training group, and individual pictures.
  • Keep an eye out this week for an ordering link. Packages should be available for purchase before and after Monday's photo session.

Fins
As our community fins deteriorate, we are asking athletes to purchase their own personal fins.

Specifically, we are asking everyone to buy the Arena PowerFin Pro. Fins are one of our most important training tools. I have a very specific idea of what makes a great training fin, and these are the best I have ever seen. I'm excited about the possibilities these fins open up for our workout design when we can count on the whole group wearing them.

The Arena PowerFin Pro only goes down to size 4, so we are still considering the best solution for our Category 1 and 2 athletes who have not yet grown into these. Please stay tuned.

At just over $60.00, the Arena PowerFin Pro is not cheap. It lasts far longer than any other fin on the market, however, and is indisputably the best for our training purposes.

We currently have a sizing kit of green fins at the pool. We ask that this week everyone take a minute to try them on and remember your size. During the week of April 10th, MI Sports will be consolidating individual orders into a bulk shipment to save a little on each order. I will be sending out a link for ordering.
