Loveland Holiday Showdown Recap, Schedule Reminder

Brian Pursley

Dear Hurricane's Families,

Congratulations to our outstanding athletes who participated in the Loveland Holiday Showdown this past weekend. This is a great time of year for swimming fast, as we have had enough time to establish strength and fitness along with a host of new habits and race skills. The Loveland Holiday Showdown proved to be a great event, bringing together all age groups for combined sessions, allowing our entire team to showcase remarkable team spirit.

Throughout the weekend, our athletes demonstrated support for their fellow teammates, setting the stage for an enthusiastic and exciting atmosphere. In the water, the team's performance was stellar, marked by substantial time drops throughout the weekend and numerous individual accolades.

A special congratulations to our 11 event champions from the weekend:

Boyd Rothman: Boys 10 and under 100 Fly, 100 Back, 50 Fly, and 200 IM
Zander De Jager: Boys 15 and over 500 Free and 200 Free
Paxton Hunnewell: Boys 11-12 100 Breast and 200 IM
Maya Patel: Girls 15 & over 200 Back
Ian Giesing: Boys 15 and over 200 Fly
Eddie Pursley: Boys 13-14 200 IM

Furthermore, Boyd Rothman was the first-place high point scorer for 10 and under Boys, while Zander De Jager won 2nd place in the 15 and over age group, and Eddie Pursley was the third-place high point scorer for 13-14 Boys.

A heartfelt thank you to all our swimmers for showcasing their best this weekend, and a big thanks to the parents and families who supported the entire process. This weekend has truly been a highlight for our team, and was a fantastic launchpad into the remainder of our season.

As a reminder we are on our regular schedule through Friday, and will be on a team break starting Saturday, 12/23, and will start back on our regular schedule starting Tuesday, 1/2.

Due to the length of our break, I recommend our senior swimmers get in the water at least a few times on their own. I'll provide some flexible guidance about what they can do to stay fit over the break by the time it comes around.

Thanks again and go Hurricanes!

Coach Brian
