Loveland Meet Details

Jordan Kuper

Our Team Championship Meet at Loveland is this weekend!  We have posted the meet timeline and the meet psych sheet on the website under the Event Title.  There are a few differences in this meet than we see at other meets we've had in the past.  Please see details below:

Meet Schedule:

Friday warm-ups @ 6:00pm. Meet Starts at 7:00pm
*Swimmers must provide their own timer and counter for both events.  Both events are timed finals.

Saturday and Sunday AM (Prelims) warm-ups will be from 8:45-9:30am in Lanes 5 and 6.  Meet Start at 9:35am.

Saturday and Sunday PM (Finals) warm-ups will be from 4:00-4:45pm (Lanes TBD).  The Finals Sessions will start at 5:00pm both days are slated to last until about 6:30pm each night.

Prelim / Final Format:

Every swimmer entered in events for both Saturday and Sunday will swim those events in the morning session.  The events are not separated out into age groups like we normally see at swim meets.  So instead of there being a 10&Under event followed by an 11-12 event, then a 13-14 event, all female swimmers regardless of age will swim an event followed by all male swimmers in the next event.  An easy way to help keep track is that all female events will be ODD numbered and all male events will be EVEN numbered.  Please check out either the entry report or the psych sheet on our website to verify your swimmers event numbers before arriving to the meet.  This will help everyone, regardless of experience, navigate the meet efficiently.

Once the events are completed, the results will be separated out into the usual age groups (10&Under, 11-12, 13-14, 15 & Over).

The Top 8 finishers in each event for each age group will qualify for the Finals session that evening.  Swimmers will arrive back at the pool at 4:00ish to warm up for their swims and compete in Finals in their qualified events from the morning.

We expect that everyone who qualifies for Finals will be there to swim their Finals events.  If something comes up that prevents your swimmer from being at Finals, please come find your swimmer's primary coach immediately.

From the time the results are announced for each event, swimmers have a 30 minute window of time to scratch from Finals.  Any decisions made after this time will result in various penalties that may affect the rest of the meet for your swimmer.  It is imperative that any alterations from the communicated expectations be discussed with the coaching staff asap!  If your swimmer has already communicated an unavailability for Finals on either day, please have them scratch from Finals once the results have been posted regardless of their place in the events.  This helps the administrators tremendously

Heat Sheets:

These will be for sale at the facility.  The full meet program will be $5.00.  The Finals session heat sheets will be $2.00.  Swimmers will have access to free ones posted on the pool deck.  The pool deck will be closed to all parents per USA Swimming guidelines.

Timing Assignments:

The Hurricanes have been assigned responsibility to time Lane 6 for all sessions excluding Friday.  We will divide the prelims sessions into two shifts:
Saturday first shift = 9:30-11:35am
Saturday second shift = 11:35-1:45pm
Sunday first shift = 9:30-11:10am
Sunday second shift = 11:10-12:45pm

Please reach out to me if you are able to time any of these shifts.  We will need two timers per shift.

For the Finals sessions, we would like to rely on parents who will be there until the last event of Finals.  This will be determined once results from prelims are processed.  If you see your swimmer's entries and feel that you have a good chance of being one of the last families at the meet on either day and would like to volunteer to time either Finals session, please let me know.  Otherwise, we'll be reaching out to families based off of who will be in attendance for Finals!
