Evergreen Hurricanes Newsletter May 28th 2015

REGISTRATION

EVERYONE SWIMMING THIS SUMMER HAS NOT COMPLETED REGISTRATION. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU REGISTER TODAY IF YOU ARE A RETURNING SWIMMER SWIMMING WITH HURRICANES THIS SUMMER.

FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS STEP BY STEP IN ORDER TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL REGSITRATION: IF YOU GET STUCK CONTACT KATHY HELLARD

1) Click here to go to the EVERGREEN REGISTRATION page.  It is a specific page on the North Jeffco Website. LOOKS LIKE THIS:

It says EVERGREEN TEAM REGISTRATION on top of the gray area and has a RED BUTTON that says REGISTER NOW

DO NOT REGISTER ON THE NJ TEAM.  DO NOT PAY MORE THAN $10 NOW OR YOU ARE IN THE WRONG PLACE

2) Click the REGISTER NOW button

3) Enter your email address that you have used register in the past.

4) Enter the password Evergreen. Do not use your previous password.  It will not work.  Only use Evergreen till you have gone through this process

5) Fill in all appropriate information regarding your swimmer and credit card info. [New swimmers may not register until Coach Jeff gives them a Category]

6) CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD FOR FUTURE USE, unless you want anyone with your email address to go in and get access to your credit card info by using the Evergreen password.

We realize this is different, confusing and time consuming.  But, it has to be done NOW.  Coach Jeff wants this done TODAY.  There are behind the scenes administrative things that cannot happen until everyone has registered.  Please comply and get this done.  It will be very beneficial and much easier in the future once this one-time process has been completed.

You will be able to edit your own account going forward (change credit cards, addresses, etc.) There will be an app you can put on your phone to track meets, best times, entries, etc. More info to come once everyone has registered.

There will no longer be hard copies of entries handed out since the TEAM UNIFY system is different.  You will be able to download from our website meet page or the mobile app (info to follow).

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

Lindsay Morrow EHS 12th Grade

Number of years on the team: 8

Best stroke & best event: Backstroke, 200BK

How did you get started swimming competitively? I learned how to swim when I was really little, but I started swimming competitively when I moved to Evergreen in 5th grade. After talking to Lexie, who was on the team at the time, I decided to try out for the team and ever since I have absolutely loved swimming.
Greatest swimming achievement: Getting a swimming scholarship at North Carolina State, which is Division 1.
Best age group memory: Going to Sarasota, FL with the team for training and a meet.
What I learned as an age grouper and advice to pass on: To relax and have fun. I swim better when I have fun with the team and don't psych myself out. My advice is to enjoy being an age group swimmer, have fun and love swimming.
Best part of being a senior swimmer:  Going through the recruiting process along with the other seniors on the team and going on recruiting trips to pick where I wanted to go to college.
Best memory being a senior swimmer: Committing to NC State on my birthday.  It was such a relief to finally know where I will be going and extremely exciting.  GO PACK!!!
Future goals /seasonal or longer: To swim in college all 4 years and compete at NCAA's.
What do you do besides swim? Run, hang with friends, sleep, eat and homework! Also, lifeguard & coach at Hiwan.
