SWIM-A-THON!
Hello Hurricane's Families,
It is time to kick off our First Annual Hurricanes Swim-a-thon!!
Please plan to join in fundraising and attending this important and FUN team building event for the whole team! Rather than a 2 hour marathon, the Coaches and I are planning engaging cross category events appropriate for all levels of swimmers to participate in!
This event will be our first Team fundraiser in quite awhile and we ASK everyone to participate as much as possible!! Fundraising by each swimmer should include outreach to family, friends, school, church, others local and remote, including those in the Mountain Area community (restaurants and businesses you frequent)!! Although we want everyone actually show for the Swim-a-thon, that doesn’t mean you have to in order to participate...as this is a Team Fundraiser

DAY OF THE SWIM-A-THON
Date / Time:
- 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Saturday, May 4, 2024
- Swimmer show time is no later than 2:00pm
- Swimming conducted from 2:30 – 4:30pm
- Team / Family BBQ: 5:00pm – 6:00pm (NOT the end of year Team/Awards banquet – we are scheduling for July)

- Wulf Recreation Center
FUNDRAISING INFO
- Team Goal = $20K to be used for Team Equipment and to assist with growing expenses on the Team’s budget going forward.
- Fundraising opens on April 4th and closes on May 10th
- Team Tracking and Results Dashboard will be available HERE or Click the Swim-a-thon banner at the top of our homepage (HERE).
Each swimmer should set up their own profiles by following the directions found HERE (please use the webpage and not the mobile application). Some additional information from USA Swimming on Swim-a-thons can be found HERE.
- Sign into your Evergreen Hurricanes account via www.evergreenswimteam.org
- Click either the Team Swim-a-thon Banner at the top OR the Swim-a-thon menu item next to “Resources” This should show your swimmer(s) and if more than one, there is a drop down for you to select your specific swimmer
- Click the RED “Set-up” tab and you can fill in their profile and customize
IMPORTANT: Once set up is complete, click the RED “Promote” tab and send via email/phone (text) or social media (Facebook).
EXPECTATION
Every swimmer should plan to participate and even if they cannot attend the Swim-a-thon event, they should participate in fundraising donations for the Team! Flat Donations and Per Lap Donations are available.

- The Board's favorite Donation Profile Page = Team Mesh Swim Bag (Have fun building your profile!)
- Top 3 Overall Donations Winner = Team Back pack for 1st, Team Mesh Swim Bag for 2nd & 3rd

- 100-200 laps swum = 100 Lap Bag Tag
- 200+ laps swum = 200 Lap Bag Tag
- $400-$599.99 = Latex Swim-a-Thon Cap
- $600-$799.99 = 24 oz. Carabiner Water Bottle
- $800-$1099.99 = Tabletop Cornhole Set
- $1100-$1399.99 = Oversized 100% UVA/UVB Sunglasses
- $1400+ = Puffy Outdoor Blanket
We look forward to following the Swim-a-thon with the 2024 Annual Team BBQ where we have the opportunity to acknowledge hard work our swimmers have put into 2024! Volunteers will be reaching out with sign-up information for contributing to the Pot Luck and setup/cleanup duties!
