THE WORD FROM THE BOARD

IT’s ALL IN THE NUMBERS!! We are excited
to report that we now have 48 swimmers on
the team. Of those, 25 have paid in full
through May, giving us a solid financial base.

VOLUNTEER UPDATE: We will be updating
the volunteer assignments for the Nov 18th
home meet – watch for an email from Diane
Belz and please confirm your availability.
Since we cancelled the Halloween meet, the
first meet of the season will be the MACs. Our
team does not have any obligations to fill at an
away meet – so parents can just sit back and
watch their swimmers (but take note of all
those hard-working MACs parent volunteers!!)

TEAM BANNERS! Special thanks to the
Pearsons for the fantastic Hurricanes banners
that are hanging on fences at Bergen Meadow
and at the athletic field on Buffalo Park Road.

WEBSITE: If you haven’t already done so,
please check out the website – your source for
the most up-to-date info about the team.
Thanks to Glenn Mayer and Susan Kramer for
developing the new site – you can find it at
evergreenswimteam.org

RECRUIT, RECRUIT! If you know of anyone
who is interested in joining the team,
encourage them to come and try us out - the
first week of practice for a new swimmer is
free!

Where’s Jeff?
Did you see the article in YOUR HUB (Denver
Post, Thursday, Sept 27)?

Parents can meet Coach Jeff informally for coffee
at Java Groove on Tuesday, Oct 9 at 9:30am.
Watch this space for info on team spirit events!

Many thanks to all of you who attended the

Parent Meeting with the Board on Sept 19 and
the Parent Meetings with Coach Jeff this past
week.

It is your first swim meet!! What do you do?
  • Get there early – at least 15 minutes before the scheduled warm-up time.
  • Bring extra towels, healthy snacks, and lots to drink.
  • Get a good night’s sleep the night before!
  • Bring a sharpie marker (for writing the races on your swimmer’s arm) and a highlighter(for marking your swimmer’s races in the program)
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
